VAN GOGH TE PINTA (painted by van gogh)
Museo Artequin Viña del Mar offered UTFSM a dedicated space to showcase science and technology to children and young audiences from the region. Given the museum’s interactive and multisensory nature, Electroveja Labs—UTFSM’s creative spin-off—was invited to design and implement this new interactive space.
The installation was set up next to a life-size recreation of Vincent van Gogh’s Bedroom in Arles. To maintain visual coherence with the scene, we proposed an art-and-technology experience where artificial intelligence would allow visitors to insert themselves into the famous painting, reimagined through Van Gogh’s brushstroke style and rendered into looping short videos.
The installation was warmly received, especially by younger visitors, who eagerly shared the generated videos on their social networks. Beyond its playful aspect, the experience also served as a tangible demonstration of how AI research at the university can inspire new forms of cultural expression—achieving the goals envisioned for the space.
